Vicky Randall

Vicky Randall applies the technique of pen-and-ink wash by perceptively applying transparent glazes and capturing an aerial perspective that enhances the feeling of light in the picture. Strokes of watercolour applied with apparent spontaneity further capture the tones and colours of her subjects with the accuracy of close observation.

There is a certain romantic element in the series of landscape paintings on show and it is tempting to consider the French plein-air painter Camille Corot. However, there is an honest and direct interpretation of subject that is not overly sentimental. Vicky Randall presents us with a thoroughly contemporary interpretation of watercolour pen-and-ink

The artist works over a broad range of subjects including landscapes, village scenes, houses and animals. She accepts commissions to paint other peoples houses, and can work from suitable photographs. Commissions normally take one month to complete and prices range from £75 to £250.
