Katherine Lloyd

Katherine Lloyd's pottery is unique. Three days of highly talented work will typically go into a single piece. She is one of the few studio potters able to employ the special techniques of the famous Moorcroft Pottery of the early 1900's. Katherine's incised and skillfully decorated jugs, bowls and vases derive from her time with Moorcroft and are only available from three or four leading galleries in Dorset and Devon.

The pottery looks out onto the rounded hills of West Dorset in one of the loveliest areas on the whole of Britain and a source of constant inspiration for the designs.

Underglaze colours are layered onto the surface, thus achieving and unusual depth and texture, especially evident in the expertly presented flower paintings. Katherine Lloyd's hand-thrown, high-fired earthenware is a thing of beauty, the result of a long experience and consummate craftsmanship. Although no two pieces are the same, Katherine’s work is instantly identifiable and highly prized by collectors.
