'Quite near to my home lives the Long Man of Wilmington. He is an ancient giant weilding two staves and carved into the chalk. At 226 feet high he is the second largest representation of man in the world and has many legends attached to him. The pieces of chalk in the foreground come from the old quarry to the right of the giant.'
