I was born in South Africa and studied art at the East London Technical
College in South Africa. After graduating I painted Wildlife and South
African Landscapes as well as private portrait commissions. I exhibit
regularly in East London while also organising children’s painting
classes.
In 1986 and 1987 I exhibited at the Mall Galleries in London with the
Society of Woman Artists. I continue to exhibit with galleries in and
around London, including North London at Burgh House in Hampstead,
Jackson Lane community centre, Alexander Gallery in Muswell Hill.
I am a member
of the Hampstead Arts Council and regularly exhibit at the Royal Free
Hospital Gallery.
I work mainly in oils on a large scale and the greatest influence on
my work was the Art Deco period and the work of Tamara de Lempicka. Also
I am becoming more interested in wildlife, probably due to my childhood
in Africa. I find painting wildlife most satisfying and have sold several
of my animal pictures in the last few months.
